A guide to the Account page of Simplebim Cloud for account administrators. The page shows the account you are working in and is where you manage its users, set up the e-mail notifications the account sends, and view the Reports that form the basis of the account's invoice. It also shows the account's details — name, subscription and the token cost of pipeline runs — for reference.
The workspaces of an account and their pipelines have their own guides, Using the Workspace Page and Using Pipelines. The account-wide connections are described in Using the Connections Page, the Dataflow Library in Using the Dataflow Library, and what a newly added user experiences in Signing In to Simplebim Cloud.

What an account is
An account is the top level of Simplebim Cloud — typically one per company. It owns the connections to the company's file storage, the workspaces in which pipelines run, the users who may sign in to it, and the invoice for the pipeline runs it makes. Every user is a member of one or more accounts, in each with one of two roles: Member or Account Admin. The Account page always shows the account you are currently working in; if you belong to several accounts, switch with the account name in the top bar.
Where the page is
Click Account in the top navigation bar. The name of the current account is shown at the top right of every page. Users with more than one account see it as a drop-down menu; choosing another account switches the whole site — the Workspaces, Connections and Account pages — to that account.
Who sees and does what
The AccountAdmin role of the current account, or being a system administrator, is what the page calls being able to manage the account. What each role sees on the page:
| Tab | Member | Account Admin |
|---|---|---|
| Details | Sees it | Sees it |
| Users | Sees the list | Adds and removes users, changes roles, re-sends invitations |
| Notifications | Sees and edits the receivers | Sees and edits the receivers |
| Reports | Not shown | Sees and exports the report |
| Library | Sees the account library | Sees the account library, publishes into it |
Nothing on the Details tab can be edited by anyone on this page. The account's name, administrator e-mail, subscription, business ID and token costs are maintained by Simplebim support; contact them to have any of these changed.
The tabs of the page
| Tab | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Details | The account's name, contact e-mail, subscription, business ID, token costs and library status. Read-only. See The Details tab. |
| Users | Who belongs to the account and with which role. See The Users tab. |
| Notifications | The e-mail addresses that are told when pipeline runs finish and other events happen. See The Notifications tab. |
| Reports | Every pipeline run of the account for a period, with its token charge — the invoicing basis. Account administrators only. See The Reports tab. |
| Library | The account's own Dataflow Library. Present only in accounts that have the library. See The Library tab. |
The Details tab
Account fields
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Account name | The name shown in the top bar, in the account picker and in the library. |
| Account administrator email | The address that receives the connection failed e-mail when a pipeline's trigger cannot reach its file storage and the workspace has no Workspace administrator email of its own. To avoid flooding, at most one such e-mail is sent per configured number of days. |
| Subscription | Trial or Monthly. |
| Business ID | The company's business identifier, for invoicing. May be empty. |
The Cost table
Every dataflow has a tool level, and every pipeline run is charged a number of tokens according to the tool level of the dataflow it ran. The Cost table lists the tool levels defined in Simplebim Cloud and the number of tokens one run costs at each level in this account. If Simplebim support has agreed a special price for this account, the table shows the agreed figures rather than the standard ones. The table is missing when no tool levels are defined.
The charges themselves are listed per run on the Reports tab.
The Library badge
When the account has the Dataflow Library, a Library heading with an Enabled badge and the date since when it has been enabled appears at the bottom of the tab. Accounts without the library show nothing here. What the library is and what enabling it does is described in Using the Dataflow Library.
The Users tab
The user list
The list shows every member of the account, sorted by name, ten per page. Its columns:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name | The user's display name. A yellow Invitation pending badge means the user has never signed in yet — they have neither set a password nor signed in with Microsoft. |
| The address the user signs in with and the invitation was sent to. | |
| Role | Member or Account Admin. Account administrators see a drop-down here; others see the text. |
| Actions | For account administrators: an envelope icon (Resend Invitation) on pending users, and a bin icon (Remove user from account) on every user. |
Columns can be sorted and filtered like every other grid of the site. Members see the same list but cannot change anything.
Roles
| Role | What it means |
|---|---|
| Member | Sees the workspaces they have been given access to on the workspace's Users tab, and may create workspaces of their own. |
| Account Admin | Sees and may edit every workspace of the account, manages the account's users on this tab, sees the Reports tab, and holds every right in the account's libraries. |
The role is per account: a person can be an Account Admin in one account and a Member in another.
Adding a user
Click Add New User. The Add New User dialog asks for:
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Existing user | Shown only if you belong to other accounts too. It lists the members of your other accounts who are not yet members of this one — Users from the other accounts you have access to. Pick one to add them without typing; leave New user (enter details below) to type an address. |
| Required for a new user. Must be a valid e-mail address. | |
| Name | Optional. The display name of the user; the e-mail address is used if left empty. |
| Role | Member (the default) or Account Admin. |
Click Add. What happens depends on whether the address is already known to Simplebim Cloud:
- A new address. A user is created for it and an invitation e-mail is sent with a link on which the person sets their password. The link is valid for 72 hours. Until they have set a password or signed in with Microsoft, the list shows them with the Invitation pending badge. The person's side of this is described in Signing In to Simplebim Cloud.
- A known address — someone who already uses Simplebim Cloud in another account. They are added to this account with the chosen role and no e-mail is sent; the account appears in their account picker the next time they sign in or switch account. Their existing name is kept; the Name field is ignored.
The message User added to account. confirms either case. Adding an address that is already a member gives This user is already a member of the account. and changes nothing.
Users who will sign in with Microsoft: add them with the e-mail address of their Microsoft work account. Simplebim Cloud links a Microsoft sign-in to a user by that exact address. If the address you added differs, the person's first Microsoft sign-in creates a separate, empty user that belongs to no account, and they see User is not associated to any account. In that case either add the Microsoft address as a new user (and remove the wrong one), or let the person use the invitation e-mail and a password with the address you added. A system administrator can delete the stray empty user under Admin → Users.
Adding a user to the account does not give them access to any workspace. Members see only the workspaces they are granted on each workspace's Users tab, so grant the new user access there, or make them an Account Admin.
Changing a role
Pick the new role in the Role drop-down of the user's row. The change is saved immediately and confirmed with Role updated. There is no confirmation step, and the change applies to the user's next request.
You can change your own role. Demoting yourself to Member takes the management rights of this tab away from you at once, and Simplebim Cloud does not stop you from demoting or removing the last Account Admin of an account. Make sure another administrator remains before you do so.
Re-sending an invitation
The envelope icon appears only on users with the Invitation pending badge. It sends a fresh invitation e-mail with a new 72-hour link; the earlier link stops working. Use it when the first invitation was not received or has expired. The message Invitation email sent. confirms it.
If the person activated their account in the meantime, the message This user has already activated their account. appears and the list is refreshed; they can now reset their password themselves from the sign-in page if they need to.
Removing a user
The bin icon removes the user from this account after the confirmation User will be removed from account. Are you sure? The person's user account itself and their memberships in other accounts are untouched, and they can still sign in to those. They can no longer switch to this account or see anything in it.
The user's workspace grants in this account are kept, not deleted. If the same person is added to the account again later, they get the same workspace access back as they had before.
The Notifications tab
The Notifications tab defines who is e-mailed when something happens in the account. Each entry is a receiver: an e-mail address, a name, an Active switch and the list of notification types the address subscribes to. Receivers need not be users of Simplebim Cloud — a shared mailbox or a ticketing address works just as well.
Notifications about pipeline runs and dataflows are sent only for events of this account; a receiver listed here never hears about another account's runs.
Receivers
- Add New Receiver inserts an empty receiver at the top of the list. Fill in Email and Name, both required, and tick the notification types. New receivers are Active from the start.
- Active unticked keeps the receiver in the list but sends nothing to it. Use it to silence an address temporarily without losing its settings.
- Delete removes the receiver. The removal takes effect on Save.
An address can be listed only once per account. Two receivers with the same address are refused on Save with Notification recipient with email "…" already exists. or Multiple receiver with a same email "…" added.
Notification types
Each receiver is e-mailed for the types ticked under it:
| Type | When it is sent |
|---|---|
| Pipeline run completed | A pipeline run of this account finished successfully. |
| Pipeline run completed with warnings | A run finished, but the dataflow reported warnings. |
| Pipeline run failed | A run failed. |
| Dataflow version published | A new version of a dataflow was published into one of this account's libraries. Only accounts with the Dataflow Library raise this event. |
| News published | Simplebim support published a news item. This is not account-specific: every active receiver anywhere who subscribes to it is e-mailed. |
One e-mail is sent per event to each subscribed, active address; an address that appears in several subscribed receivers gets it once.
Saving
Editing anything shows the warning Unsaved changes and enables Save and Cancel. Save writes all additions, changes and deletions at once and confirms with Notification settings saved successfully; Cancel reloads the saved receivers and discards your edits. Leaving the page with unsaved changes prompts the browser's leave-page warning.
Save refuses the whole set if any receiver lacks a name or address (One of the notification recipient is missing email or name) or has an invalid address (Receiver email "…" is not valid.); fix the field and save again.
The Reports tab
The Reports tab is shown to account administrators only. As its heading says: All pipeline runs from all of this account's workspaces for the selected period — the basis of the account's invoice. A run is charged when it produced at least one output file. Use it to check what the account will be invoiced for, or to look at the activity of the whole account across workspaces.
Choosing the period
The tab opens with the previous 30 days. Change the period with the From and To date pickers and click Show, or use the two shortcuts:
| Button | Period |
|---|---|
| Previous 30 Days | From 30 days ago to today. |
| Previous Month | The whole previous calendar month. |
Dates are whole days in your browser's time zone: From starts at midnight, To ends at the end of the day. Either picker can be cleared to leave that end open. A run belongs to the period by its start time.
The totals
Above the list:
- Total tokens — the sum of the tokens of all runs in the period. If some runs carry an estimate, the number of runs estimated is shown next to it.
- Charged runs — how many of the runs in the period are charged, out of all runs.
- Hide uncharged runs — hides the runs that produced no output. The totals above stay as they are; the list and the exports follow the check box.
If there were no runs in the period: No pipeline runs in the selected period.
The run list
Fifteen runs per page, newest first, sortable and filterable by every column:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| When | The start time of the run. |
| Workspace / Pipeline | Where the run took place. Both are empty if the workspace or pipeline has since been deleted. |
| Trigger File | The file that started the run. |
| Result | The same result badge as on the workspace's History tab: Success, Had Warnings, Had Errors, Had Errors And Warnings, Validation Failed, Cancelled or Running. |
| Tokens | The tokens charged for the run. (est.) marks an estimate; see below. |
| Charged | ✔ when the run is charged, a dash when it is not. |
How a run is charged
- A run is charged when it produced at least one output file, whatever its result badge says. A run that ended with warnings or errors but still wrote an output file is charged; a run that wrote nothing is not.
- The number of tokens is the cost of the dataflow's tool level in this account at the moment the run finished. It is recorded with the run, so a later price change does not alter old runs.
- Cancelled and Validation Failed runs never produced output and are never charged.
- (est.) — the run finished before token costs were recorded at completion, so its tokens are estimated from the account's current cost table. Hovering over the figure shows: Estimated from the current rate card — this run finished before token costs were recorded at completion. An estimated run whose pipeline has since been deleted shows 0 tokens, because its tool level is no longer known.
Exporting
Export CSV and Export Excel download the list as currently filtered by the Hide uncharged runs check box, followed by three total rows — Total tokens, Charged runs and Total runs — computed over the exported rows. The file is named pipeline-runs_<from>-<to> with the dates as yyyyMMdd, and has the columns Started, Ended, Workspace, Pipeline, Trigger file, Result, Tool level, Tokens, Charged and Estimated. Times are written in your browser's date and time format. If a browser download is blocked, Export failed. Please try again. appears.
The Library tab
In accounts that have the Dataflow Library, this tab shows the account library — the library shared by all members of the account, as opposed to the library each workspace has of its own. Every member sees it; account administrators, and members given the right, publish into it. What the library is and how it is used is described in Using the Dataflow Library.

Troubleshooting
I do not see the Reports tab. Only Account Admins of the account see it. Check your role on the Users tab, or ask an administrator to change it.
The Users tab has no Add New User button and the roles are plain text. You are a Member of this account. Ask an Account Admin to add the user.
The Existing user list is missing from the Add New User dialog. It appears only when you belong to other accounts that have members who are not in this one. Type the address instead; a person who already uses Simplebim Cloud is recognised by it.
The person I added has not received an invitation. If they already used Simplebim Cloud in another account, no e-mail is sent — the account simply appears in their account picker. Otherwise ask them to check the junk folder, and use Resend Invitation on their row; the new link is valid for 72 hours.
The envelope icon disappeared from a user's row. The user has activated their account. If they cannot sign in, they use Forgot your password? on the sign-in page.
I added a user but they see no workspaces. Membership gives access to the account, not to its workspaces. Add them on the Users tab of each workspace they should see, or make them an Account Admin.
Nobody received a notification e-mail. Check that the receiver is Active, subscribes to the right type, and that the changes were Saved — edits are not sent until you click Save. Pipeline notifications are sent only for runs of this account.
A run with an error is charged. Charging depends on output, not on the result: the run wrote at least one output file before or despite the error. Open the run's log on the workspace's History tab to see what was written.
The Tokens column shows (est.) figures. Those runs finished before token costs were recorded per run. The estimate uses today's cost table; if the account's price has changed since, the estimate may differ from what was charged.
The Details tab has no Cost table. No tool levels are defined yet. Contact Simplebim support.
I want to change the account name or e-mail address. These are maintained by Simplebim support and cannot be edited on this page.
