A guide to signing in to Simplebim Cloud for users who have been invited by an administrator. It explains the two ways to sign in — an e-mail address with a password, or your Microsoft work account — how you set your first password, what to do when you have forgotten it, the user agreement you accept on first sign-in, how the account you work in is chosen, and how you sign out.
How an administrator invites users is described in Managing an Account article. What you can do once you are signed in is described in the guides of the individual pages, starting with Configuring Connections article and Managing Workspaces article.

Before you start
Simplebim Cloud has no self-registration. An administrator of your account adds your e-mail address, and only then can you sign in. Depending on how you were added you have either received an e-mail with the subject Set your Simplebim Cloud password, or been told to sign in with your Microsoft work account. Both routes are described under Your first sign-in.
You need a current web browser with cookies enabled for the Simplebim Cloud address. The address itself — for example https://cloud.simplebim.com — comes from your administrator or from the invitation e-mail.
The sign-in page
Opening Simplebim Cloud without being signed in brings you to the Sign in page. If you followed a link to a particular page, you are taken there once you have signed in; otherwise you land on the home page.
From top to bottom the page has:
| Part | What it is |
|---|---|
| Email and Password | Your Simplebim Cloud e-mail address — the one the administrator added — and your password. |
| Sign in | Signs you in with the e-mail address and password. |
| Sign in with Microsoft | Signs you in with your Microsoft work account instead. The button is grey for a moment while the page loads. |
| Forgot your password? | Sends you a link for setting a new password. See Forgotten or expired password. |
An error is shown in a red box above the form. The messages are listed under Messages.
Your first sign-in
Setting your password from the invitation
When an administrator adds you, Simplebim Cloud sends you an e-mail with the subject Set your Simplebim Cloud password. It contains one link. Clicking it opens the Set a new password page:
- Type a password of at least 8 characters into New password, and the same again into Confirm password.
- Click Update password. The page confirms Password updated. You can now sign in.
- Click Go to sign in and sign in with your e-mail address and the new password.
The link in the invitation works once and for 72 hours after the e-mail was sent. If it has expired or was already used, the page says This reset link didn't work. It may be expired or already used. You do not need to ask for a new invitation: go to the sign-in page, click Forgot your password? and request a reset link to your e-mail address — it opens the same page. An administrator can also resend the invitation.
Until you have set a password or signed in with Microsoft, your account is not activated and the sign-in page refuses your e-mail address with Sign-in failed.
Signing in with Microsoft instead
If your organisation uses Microsoft 365 and your Simplebim Cloud e-mail address is the address of your Microsoft work account, you do not need the invitation e-mail or a password at all. On the sign-in page click Sign in with Microsoft and sign in with that account, as described under Signing in with Microsoft. Simplebim Cloud recognises you by the e-mail address the administrator added and links your Microsoft account to it. From then on you can always sign in with Microsoft.
This only works when the e-mail address of your Microsoft account is exactly the address the administrator added. A different address is treated as an unknown person, and the sign-in ends on the message User is not associated to any account. See Troubleshooting for what to do then.
Accepting the user agreement
The first time you sign in — whichever way — Simplebim Cloud shows the User agreement page before anything else. It links to the End-user licence agreement and the Privacy policy, which open in a new tab. Read them and click I accept to continue to the page you were heading for. Decline & sign out signs you out again; you cannot use Simplebim Cloud without accepting.
The acceptance is recorded once for your user and is not asked again, not even on another computer.
Signing in with e-mail and password
Type your e-mail address and password and click Sign in. Upper and lower case do not matter in the e-mail address; they do matter in the password.
If the sign-in fails you see one and the same message whatever the reason: Sign-in failed. Check your email and password, or verify your account first. The reasons it covers are:
- a mistyped e-mail address or password;
- an e-mail address that no administrator has added;
- an account that has not been activated yet — set your password from the invitation first, see Setting your password from the invitation;
- a user who has only ever signed in with Microsoft and has no password — use Sign in with Microsoft, or set a password with Forgot your password?.
There is no limit on attempts, but each failed attempt is logged.
Signing in with Microsoft
Click Sign in with Microsoft. The browser leaves Simplebim Cloud and shows the familiar Microsoft sign-in page in the same window:
- Choose or type your work account. If you are already signed in to Microsoft 365 in this browser, the account is usually offered with one click.
- Complete whatever your organisation requires — a password, the Authenticator app, a security key. Simplebim Cloud never sees these; they stay between you and Microsoft.
- The first time, Microsoft may ask you to accept that Simplebim Cloud reads your name and e-mail address. Accept.
- You are returned to Simplebim Cloud and signed in.
If you close the Microsoft page or cancel, you come back to the sign-in page with the message Microsoft sign-in was cancelled or failed, followed by Microsoft's own reason. Simply try again.
Any Microsoft work or school account can be used. Personal Microsoft accounts — Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live — are not accepted; use e-mail and password instead.
Password or Microsoft — which one to use
Both methods lead to the same user and the same accounts. Which one you use is a matter of preference and of your organisation's rules:
| E-mail and password | Sign in with Microsoft | |
|---|---|---|
| What you need | A password set through the invitation or a reset link. | A Microsoft work account whose e-mail address is your Simplebim Cloud address. |
| Second factor | None. | Whatever your organisation enforces in Microsoft 365, such as the Authenticator app. |
| Forgotten credentials | Forgot your password? on the sign-in page. | Your organisation's Microsoft password reset; Simplebim Cloud cannot help. |
| Recommended when | Your organisation does not use Microsoft 365, or your Microsoft account has another e-mail address. | Your organisation uses Microsoft 365. It is the safer choice because of the second factor. |
You can use both. A user who set a password and later clicks Sign in with Microsoft with the same e-mail address gets the Microsoft account linked and keeps the password. A user who started with Microsoft can set a password afterwards with Forgot your password?.
Forgotten or expired password
Requesting a reset link
On the sign-in page click Forgot your password?. On the Reset your password page type your e-mail address and click Send reset link. The page always answers If that email is in our system, a reset link is on its way. — also for an address nobody has added, so that the page cannot be used to find out who has a Simplebim Cloud user.
Within a few minutes you receive an e-mail with the subject Set your Simplebim Cloud password and one link. The link works once and for one hour. Requesting a new link makes every earlier link invalid, so always use the newest e-mail.
Setting the new password
The link opens the Set a new password page described under Setting your password from the invitation: type the new password twice — at least 8 characters — and click Update password. Then sign in with it.
Setting a new password signs you out everywhere else. Any other browser or computer where you were signed in has to sign in again within the hour. This is on purpose: if somebody else had your old password, they are locked out.
Changing your password
There is no separate change-password page. To change your password, use Forgot your password? on the sign-in page, exactly as above. You can do this while you are signed in — open the sign-in page in a new tab — and the reset link works the same way.
After signing in
The account you work in
Everything in Simplebim Cloud — connections, workspaces, pipelines — belongs to an account, typically one per company. You work in one account at a time, and the account is chosen when you sign in:
- When you are a member of one account it is selected for you. Its name is shown in the top bar.
- When you are a member of several accounts the top bar shows Select account. Open it and choose one; the page reloads in that account. You can switch at any time from the same place, and the page you are on reloads in the other account.
- When you are a member of no account — the administrator removed you, or the invitation was sent by mistake — the page shows User is not associated to any account. Please contact support. Contact your administrator.
The top bar
Once signed in, the top bar has, from left to right, the navigation links — Home, Connections, Workspaces, Account — the name of the current account or the account picker, and a profile menu labelled with your e-mail address. The profile menu contains Log Out, and for administrators of the whole platform an Admin submenu.
The home page welcomes you with a short description of Simplebim Cloud and the three Getting Started steps: add a connection, add a workspace, add a pipeline.
Staying signed in
You stay signed in while you keep using Simplebim Cloud in the same browser; the session renews itself in the background without asking you to sign in again. Closing the browser normally ends the session, and a session that is not used ends by itself after 30 days at the latest. Opening Simplebim Cloud in another browser or on another computer starts a separate session; you can be signed in on several at once.
The session ends earlier when you sign out, when a new password is set for your user, or when an administrator removes your user.
Signing out
Open the profile menu — the button with your e-mail address at the right end of the top bar — and click Log Out. You return to the sign-in page. Signing out ends the session in this browser and also invalidates it on the server, so it cannot be resumed; other browsers where you are signed in are not affected.
Sign out when you leave a shared computer. On your own computer it is enough to close the browser.

Troubleshooting
I never received the invitation or reset e-mail. Check the spam folder for a message with the subject Set your Simplebim Cloud password. Make sure the address you typed on the Reset your password page is the one the administrator added; a private address does not work when the administrator added your work address. If nothing arrives, ask the administrator to resend the invitation or to check the address.
The link in the e-mail says it is expired or already used. Invitation links last 72 hours and reset links one hour, and each works once. Request a new link with Forgot your password? on the sign-in page.
Sign-in failed, but I am sure the password is right. The message is the same for every cause. The most common one for a new user is that the password was never set: open the invitation e-mail or request a reset link. If you usually sign in with Microsoft, you may not have a password at all; use Sign in with Microsoft.
Sign in with Microsoft stays grey or does nothing. The page has not finished loading the Microsoft sign-in component, or a browser extension or network filter blocks it. Wait a moment, reload the page, or try another browser. E-mail and password sign-in works regardless.
Microsoft refuses my account. Make sure you chose your work or school account, not a personal Microsoft account. If Microsoft still refuses, sign in with e-mail and password and send Microsoft's message to support.
I signed in with Microsoft and got "User is not associated to any account". The e-mail address of your Microsoft account differs from the address the administrator added, so Simplebim Cloud created a separate, empty user for you. Ask the administrator to add the Microsoft address instead, or sign in with e-mail and password using the added address. The e-mail address of a user cannot be changed afterwards, so the empty user stays until a system administrator removes it; it does no harm in the meantime.
I keep coming back to the sign-in page after signing in. The browser refuses the cookie Simplebim Cloud uses to remember the session. Allow cookies for the Simplebim Cloud address, or leave private browsing mode, and sign in again.
I was signed out although I did not log out. A new password was set for your user — by you on another computer or via a reset link somebody requested — or an administrator changed your user. Sign in again; if you did not set a new password, tell your administrator.
The user agreement page appears again. Your acceptance could not be saved the first time, usually because the session had expired. Click I accept again; it is recorded once and does not come back.
I belong to several accounts and land on an empty page. Choose an account from Select account in the top bar. Simplebim Cloud does not pick one for you when there are several.
