The Add Location Using Prisms (Optional Split) dataflow creates a connection between the selected location prisms and all objects within those prisms, and copies the selected property values from the prisms to the objects. This dataflow also includes an option to split objects that cross location prism boundaries or fall within multiple prism areas.
Add Location Prisms dataflow is recommended to be used with this dataflow.
Settings
Image 1: Add Location with no splitting — the location will be added to all objects within the location prisms. Property value Space Name is selected to be copied from the location prisms to the objects, into the standard property named Section.
Image 2: Add Location with Split Objects activated: - the location will be added to all objects within the location prisms and Slab and Wall objects will be split based on location prism boundaries. Space Name and Space Number are selected to be copied from the location prisms to the objects. First value is copied to the standard property Section and the second value to the custom property My Own Location.
Step Name
The name of the dataflow step. The step name can be edited manually.
Location Prisms
The selected objects to be used as location prisms. A location prism can be an existing object in the IFC model, or location prisms can be imported and merged from a separate location prism IFC file. The typical object class for a location prism is Space or Building Element Proxy, but any other object class can also be used.
The target for adding location is always all objects (All). Location prisms are automatically excluded after the dataflow has been executed.
Split Objects (Optional)
Splitting objects with location prisms is an optional feature. When activated, all objects within the location prisms will receive location information, and selected objects will be split based on the location prism boundaries.
Copy Location values From Prisms to Objects
From Property
The name of the location prism property whose value will be copied to the objects. A location prism can include one or multiple properties used as location information. At least one property must be copied to the objects. This is a mandatory field.
To Property
The name of the property where the value will be copied. The To Property field includes a dropdown list of predefined standard property names for locations. You can also enter a custom property name. The location property will be automatically added to the Simplebim property set with the prefix 04_ (location series).
Copy Second/Third Value (Optional)
Optional fields for copying additional location prism properties to objects. These can be used when multiple location-related property values (for example, Building, Takt area, or Apartment name) need to be transferred from prisms to objects.
