Hi!
I’m Gio, and I work as a Support Manager at Datacubist, the company behind Simplebim. My role focuses on helping users get the most value out of their BIM data by turning complex IFC models and information into clear, practical, and reliable workflows. In addition to customer and partner support and training, I also manage internal IT and support-related systems at Datacubist, helping ensure that our customer-facing support and internal operations run smoothly and efficiently.
I come from a background in BIM software and services, and over the years I have worked closely with architects, engineers, and BIM specialists in customer support, training, and service delivery. What motivates me most is making BIM data easier to understand and easier to use, whether that means cleaning and enriching IFC data, setting up automated dataflows, or helping teams collaborate more effectively using openBIM.
Outside of my core responsibilities, I have a strong personal interest in IT, 3D modeling, scripting, and automation, which I also pursue as hobbies. I enjoy experimenting with tools, workflows, and small automations, and that hands-on curiosity often feeds back into my professional work, especially when it comes to improving efficiency and solving practical problems.
A big part of my work is knowledge sharing. I enjoy explaining how things work, running demos and training sessions, and discussing real-life use cases with both professionals and students. I believe that good tools only create value when people truly understand them, so my focus is always on practical solutions that fit everyday project needs.
I am also very interested in where digital construction is heading, especially how new technologies can help improve everyday BIM workflows. I see my role not just as supporting the product, but as supporting the wider Simplebim community as it continues to evolve.
