The 01_Base Model Standard Fix dataflow is designed to be used with the 01_Base Model Standard ARC/STR/MEP dataflow. With this dataflow, mapping rules can be created to fix the default mapping results or to add new standardized 01-series properties to the Simplebim property set when a suitable default is not available. All standard default 01-series properties for each discipline (ARC, STR, and MEP) are included. Values from the original model properties are copied into the selected standard or custom 01-properties, which are automatically added to the Simplebim property set.

This step provides a flexible way to refine the Base Model standardization. By mapping specific original properties to the correct standard 01-properties, data consistency is improved across different object classes, IFC models, or projects.

Settings

Image 1: Settings for copying door property values in an architectural model from their original location to the standard 01_Handedness property.

Image 2: Settings for copying door property values in an architectural model from their original location to a custom 01_My Own Property property, assigned as a Text property type.

Image 3: Property list of a selected door showing the original property set and the standardized Simplebim property set created with the 01_Base Model Standard ARC dataflow. The (-) placeholders indicate default properties where values could not be found by the standardization rules.

Image 4: Selecting the Discipline provides a dropdown list of related default properties. If the required property is not in the list, a custom value can be entered directly into the field.

Image 5: End result – A standardized property list of a door including the fixed mapping for the 01_Handedness property and the added custom property 01_My Own Property with the mapped value.

Step Name

The name of the dataflow step. A dynamic name is automatically generated based on the configuration, but you can also overwrite it manually. In this dataflow, the step name should be updated to match the 01_Property title to ensure that the dynamic title works correctly.

Target Objects

The objects the Base Model 01-properties will be added to. If the target is an object selection or object group, the new properties will be added to all object classes for which the target has objects. However, the value will be set only for the objects in the target. The default value for the target is All.

Copy Value to Standard Base Model 01_Property

From Property

The original property from which the value is copied.

Discipline

The discipline selected to determine the available default 01-property list. Options include ARC, STR, and MEP.

To 01_Property ARC/STR/MEP

The target Base Model 01-property in the Simplebim property set where the values are copied. The list of default properties depends on the discipline selected above. A property can be selected from the dropdown list, or a new custom property name can be entered. The property name must start with 01_.

Note that in a structural model, the 01_Base Model Standard FIX dataflow automatically copies a default selection of assembly-level properties to the part objects within the parent assembly. This is the same behavior as in the original 01_Base Model Standard STR dataflow.

Also note that the 01_Property title changes based on the selected discipline. The dataflow step name should be updated to match the 01_Property title to ensure that the dynamic title works correctly.

Set 01_Extra Property Type

Activating this option opens a dropdown list to define the data type for a new custom property.

Property Type

The data type assigned to the new custom property. Options include Text, Number, Length, Weight, and Yes/No. The default type is Text.
