The Derive Clash Objects dataflow creates 3D objects (Building Element Proxy) at the locations where selected building part objects and MEP part objects intersect or penetrate each other. A name property value can be assigned to the derived clash objects, and selected property values from the related building part and MEP part objects can be copied to them.
This dataflow provides an easy way to generate distinct clash objects, for example, to visualize and document where ducts or pipes penetrate through walls or floors.
Settings
Image: Settings and end result – Clash objects representing penetrations where MEP flow segments intersect with walls. An automatically generated group contains all derived clash objects, organized into subgroups by clash name. Each object has automatically enriched identity properties.
Step Name
The name of the dataflow step. A dynamic name is automatically generated based on the configuration, but you can also overwrite it manually.
Building Parts
The selected architectural or structural objects that are checked for clashes with MEP parts. The default selection is Wall objects.
MEP Parts
The selected MEP objects that are checked for clashes with building parts. The default selection is Flow Segment objects.
Clash Object Inherited Properties
01_Related Building Part
The name of the building part property whose value is copied to the clash object as 01_Related building part in the Simplebim property set. This identity value makes it easy to identify which building part is involved in each clash.
01_Related MEP Part
The name of the MEP part property whose value is copied to the clash object as 01_Related MEP part in the Simplebim property set. This identity value makes it easy to identify which MEP part is involved in each clash.
Clash Object Settings
01_Name-Type
The name assigned to the derived clash objects. The value is set to 01_Name-Type in the Simplebim property set. The default name is Inlet Wall-Flow Segment.
Tolerance
The tolerance for the depth of the penetration. Only intersections exceeding the specified tolerance will generate a clash object. The default tolerance is 10 mm.
Clash Color
The color of the derived clash objects. The default color is light blue, but it can be customized.
