The Derive Surface Objects for Bottom dataflow creates thin 3D bottom surface objects (Covering) that cover the underside of selected target objects. A name property value can be assigned to the derived bottom surface objects, and selected property values from the related target objects can be copied to them. The net area value is automatically calculated for all derived bottom surface objects.

This dataflow provides an easy way to generate distinct bottom surface objects, for example, to represent formwork beneath slabs or other structural elements.

An automatically generated group contains all derived bottom surface objects, organized into subgroups by surface name. Each object has automatically enriched identity and quantity properties.

Step Name

The name of the dataflow step. A dynamic name is automatically generated based on the configuration, but you can also overwrite it manually.

Target Objects

The selected objects from which the bottom surface objects will be derived. The derived bottom surfaces are created separately for each target object. The default selection is Footing objects.

Surface Object Inherited Properties

01_Related Building Part

The name of the target object property whose value is copied to the bottom surface object as 01_Related building part in the Simplebim property set. This identity value makes it easy to identify the building part above each bottom surface object.

Surface Object Settings

01_Name-Type

The name assigned to the derived bottom surface objects. The value is set to 01_Name-Type in the Simplebim property set. The default name is Formwork Bottom.

Surface Color

The color of the derived bottom surface objects. The default color is light beige, but it can be customized.
