The Save to IFC File dataflow saves all objects or a subset of objects to an IFC file. Users can choose between two predefined export modes to control how the data is exported. The dataflow also supports model merging by optionally writing the source model information to all objects.

This dataflow provides an easy-to-use alternative to the standard IFC export functionality.

Settings

Step Name

The name of the dataflow step. The step name can be edited manually.

Target Objects

The objects which will be saved to the IFC file. The default value for the target is All.

File Name

The name and path of the resulting IFC file.

Export Mode

Predefined export settings that affect the interoperability and size of the resulting IFC file. It is recommended to use Safe Mode only if you encounter problems importing the resulting file into another application. This mode writes object geometry in a format (i.e., BREP) that all IFC-enabled applications should support, but the downside is that the model size increases significantly.

Add Model Information

The option adds the source model name and timestamp information to all objects. This information can be used in the merged model to identify objects originating from different source models.
