Dataflow Add common Object Groups

The Add Common Object Groups dataflow generates two standard object groups and adds them to the Generic Group category under the Common Object Groups folder. The groups and folder are created automatically if they do not already exist. These common object groups include all typical object classes used for modeling building construction elements, including space objects.

The dataflow excludes certain object classes, such as Site, Grid or Project, which are included in the default “All” selection. The purpose of these added groups is to simplify the selection of all relevant objects of a building as targets for various dataflows or data wrangling tasks. Typically, object classes like Site are not wanted as part of the target.

Settings

Step Name

The name of the dataflow step. The step name can be edited manually.

Add Groups

You can choose to add either one group or both groups. The group names are: All Elements and All Elements+Spaces. The All Elements group contains all building element objects except Space. The All Elements+Spaces group contains all building element objects and spaces.

The generated groups are added to the Generic Group category under the Common Object Groups folder.
