The Derive 3D Objects Based on Imported Footprints generates location prism objects based on 3D footprints.

Footprints of the 3D objects is used for generating location prisms for each building storey.

Settings

File Name

The full path and name, including the file extension, for the IFC file, that contains the 3D footprint objects.

Generation Type

Defines whether the prisms are generated per building (from bottom to the top of the building), or per building storey (from bottom to the top of each building storey).

By Building Storey

Generate location prisms per building storey.

Create Group

Defines whether to create a group for the generated objects. The group is a convenient way to find the objects afterwards. It is also useful in dataflows to further process the location prisms in the following steps.

No

No group is created.

Generic Group

A group is created in the Generic Group category.

IFC Group

A group is created in the IFC Group category.

Group Name Property

Defines the name of the group.

Parent Group

Defines the name of the parent group. Groups can be hierarchical. If you already have a parent group in the model where you want to assign your new group. Define it here.
