Home ribbon

The Home ribbon in Simplebim provides quick access to most commonly used functions of Simplebim. 

History

• Undo
  Undo the previous operation.
  Shortcut: Ctrl+z 

• Redo
  Redo the previously undone operation.
  Shortcut: Ctrl+y

• View Reports
  Each time a template tool or dataflow is applied to the model a report containing the errors, warnings and other information about the process is created.

Models

• Model Filter
  A model that is filtered out is not visible in the user interface and will not be included in any export.

• Merge IFC
  Merge new IFC models into the currently open model.

Workspaces

• Workspace
  Opens and manages workspaces, which define the layout of your palettes.

• Add Bimsheet
  Add a new Bimsheet palette to the current workspace Bimsheet connects BIM and Excel. In Simplebim it appears as an embedded Excel that is connected to the model. When you select cells in Bimsheet, the objects that provide the data for those cells are selected in the model. When you edit the values of the cells, the data in the model is updated and when you make changes to the model the Bimsheet is updated.

• Add Table
  Add a new Table palette to the current workspace. The Table palette offers a very' flexible and versatile way of creating tabular views to your data. You can define what data is shown, how it is organized and which features are used based on your own use cases. You can also save a table with all its settings for future use with the same data or data from other similar models.

• Add Palette
  Palettes can be placed around the canvas area for additional functionality. When you add a palette it first appears As a floating window, which you can drag from its title bar into the desired location In the workspace. During this operation the workspace will give visual clues about where the New palette would be placed.

• Change Canvas
  The canvas is the main area of the workspace, The canvas grows and shrinks When you resize the application window and it does not have a title bar and cannot be closed,

• Reset Current Workspace
  Reset the layout of the current workspace to its original settings. 
  Shortcut: Ctrl+click to reset all workspaces.

• Manage Workspaces
  Allows you to save, load, and organize custom workspaces for different tasks.

• Trimmer Mode
  Enables trimming mode, allowing you to interactively trim objects from the model by dragging and dropping them into the Included, Excluded, or Not Decided Yet buckets. When the Trimmer Mode is off, only the included objects and properties are shown.

Export

• Export IFC
  Exporting to IFC will create a new IFC file containing only the included objects and properties.
