Dataflow Add or Modify Text Property

The Add or Modify Text Property dataflow adds a user-defined text property within a user-defined property set. The property can be added to all objects or only to selected object classes, depending on the chosen target. This dataflow also allows you to set a default value to the added property or overwrite an existing property value.

The idea is to make it possible to add properties to objects, enabling them to store the values needed for organizing and using the IFC model.

Settings

Step Name

The name of the dataflow step. A dynamic name will be automatically generated based on the configuration, but you can also overwrite it manually.

Target Objects

The object classes the new property will be added to. If the target is an object selection or object group, the new property will be added to all object classes for which the target has objects. However, the Value (see below) will be set only for the objects in the target. The default value for the target is All.

Property Set

Defines the property set name for the new property. You can use an existing property set or create a new one. Note that the property set name cannot be Simplebim.

Property

The name of the property you want to add, or the existing property to which you want to set a value. Note that some dataflows automatically add the required properties.

Value

The value to be set to the new or selected property. This value will be set to all target objects. If you only want to add the property without setting a value, this field can be left empty.
