Bug Fixes
- Bug fixed in Copy property Values -tool when copying from multiple properties with the same name into a property on the same object. This bug was introduced in SR7 and fixed in SR8.

Enhancements
- Dataflow palette: Sub-editor logic improved when editing dataflows. Now most functionality is disabled when a sub-editor (list, expression or query) is open. This makes it easier to keep track of the sub-editors.
- Dataflow palette: Configuration added for opening dataflows with sections collapsed.
- Dataflow palette: Function to import a dataflow from file as the current dataflow added.

Bug Fixes
- Some memory leaks fixed in dataflow editing that could cause an application crash when Simplebim was used for a long time without closing.

- Objects -palette: bug fixed in adding ungrouped groups. The new ungrouped group did not always become visible before a refresh.
- Objects -palette: bug fixed that caused the application to crash when a new rule based group was added without defining a rule.
- Groups: bug fixed in using yes/no rules for rule based group
- Groups: application crash fixed in saving complex rule based groups as a group template file.
- Table palette: bug fixed that prevented excluded objects from being selected in Trimmer mode

Enhancements
- Improved ‘design echo’. The user interface now better automatically and consistently updates to show changes made to the model by dataflows. This helps to better understand the effect of running dataflows and individual dataflow steps.

- Improved handling of invalid containers in IFC import: IfcDistributionPort is now filtered out from containment as well as containers containing themselves (recursion)
- Import support for IfcPropertyEnumeratedValue: If the value is not a list it is converted to IfcPropertySingleValue at import
- IFC export protected against invalid recursive containment and such references are also dropped at import.
- Missing ‘copy from facility’ -option added to Copy Property Values -tool
Bug Fixes
- Stability improvements: the application is much less likely to crash
- Crash exporting invalid containers fixed in IFC export
- Bug fixed that sometimes caused the list of selected object classes to be lost when using object classes as a target in a tool/dataflow configuration
- Bug fixed in using properties that don’t exist in the current model in queries.
- Several bugs fixed in geometry handling e.g. splitting that caused the geometry to break in special cases
- Objects -palette: Bug fixed in ‘Show Empty Object Classes’ option
- Bug fixed in auto-saving dataflow when using shared dataflows folder. Previously the autosave file was written to the shared folder overwriting the autosave file of other users. Now the autosave file is always written to the default dataflows folder in each user’s own profile.
Simplebim 11.0 SR4 (1.10.2025)
New Features
- Dataflow Sections: Dataflows can now be organized into sections for clarity. Sections can be run, collapsed/expanded, enabled/disabled, moved, duplicated and deleted.
- The folder for My Dataflows can be changed from the application settings. The My Templates folder for legacy Excel templates can be changed from the same place.

- Bug fixed in splitting geometries: In rare cases split geometries could become hollow, i.e. not completely enclosed.
- Bug fixed in adding building storeys from the Containment -palette: sometimes the newly added building storey was not immediately visible in the palette.
- Bug fixed in Convert Objects -tool: the tool was losing 2D geometries in the conversion.
- Bug fixed in Convert Objects -tool: the geometry of the converted objects was misplaced if the original object was a building element proxy containing other building element proxy objects.
- Bug fixed in writing predefined type attribute of Space objects to IFC4.3 models
- Bug fixed in reading IfcProxy objects (there were no issues with IfcBuildingElementProxy)
- Bug fixed in using IfcFacility in the containment structure
- Bug fixed in report header when opening a new model after running a dataflow
- Bug fixed in displaying geometry of objects that are far away from the origin in the 3D window when the length unit of the model was meters/feet. This did not affect the actual geometry, for example splitting, quantity calculation or IFC export.

- Critical bug fixed in exporting property sets into IFC. This bug was introduced in SR2 and only affected users who had already updated to SR2.

Bug Fixes

- Bug fixed in reporting Windows OS version in About dialog. Was reporting version 11 as version 10.
- Bimsheet: bug fixed in reading Bimsheets that show Group Category data
- Model Splitter: bug fixed that was in some cases leaving the original objects in addition to the new split objects when the location prisms were merged in the same session and the split objects had both 3D and 2D geometry
- Bug fixed in maintaining configuration when a dataflow with only one step is opened in the Dataflow palette
- Bug fixed in adding an ‘ungrouped group’ using the ‘Add or Modify Group’ -tool

- Bug fixed in moving 3D objects between viewports. The visual transformation was not always correct.
- Enhanced bounding box calculation. In certain situations, the calculation failed.

- Dynamic dataflow step names. Names of text and choice dataflow configuration items (not yet other types) can be used as variables in dataflow step names, for example: Add [Property Name] -property
Enhancements
- Add or Modify Group -tool: Added alternative ways of defining query: object selection and property value
- Support added for opening IFC and native Simplebim files by dragging&dropping them on the Open button in the startup screen.
- Support added for multiple items in the description of the IFC header
- Improved German and French localizations
- Show 2D Geometry -option added to 3D palette. If a model has a lot of 2D geometry the 3D window can get slow and hiding the 2D geometry helps. The 2D geometry is exported to IFC even if it is hidden in the 3D window.
- The Convert Objects -tool will no longer convert to object classes that don’t exist in the IFC version used by the current model.
- The Copy Property Values -tool can now take multiple source properties
- Option for defining the maximum number of polygons when calculating shadow areas added. This can help in performance when the model has objects with very complex geometry.
- Dataflow names have been clarified for: ‘Add Location Using Nearby Space’, ‘Add Basic Quantities’, ‘Add Location Prisms’, ‘Add Location Using Prisms (Optional Split)’, ‘Generate Child Groups by Geometry’ and ‘Generate Child Groups by Text Property’
- Direction for object search parameter added to ‘Add Location Using Nearby Space’ dataflow

- Bug fixed in merging multiple models in one operation (selecting multiple files for merge)
- Bug fixed in case sensitive comparisons in queries
- Bug fixed in applying a Excel template using the Apply Template tool when the file name of the template contains square brackets. Same applied to all tools that take a file name, for example merging IFC models.
- Bug fixed exporting values with the backslash character to IFC. Previously the backslash character was duplicated.
- Bug fixed in exporting geometry that was modified in Simplebim (subtract, union, intersect) into IFC
- Bug fixed in exporting properties (like edition date) of classification objects to IFC
- Bug fixed in exporting object colors to IFC when objects have multiple body representations and not all of them have a color defined

- Bimsheet protected against cases where the GlobalID property is included in the IFC import and used in a Bimsheet that adds the same property again as the last column.

Simplebim 11.0 (14.5.2025)
New Features
- Dataflows for easier automated BIM data wrangling. The tools and Excel templates from older Simplebim versions can be used as steps in the new dataflows.
- New simplified start-up window
- New Trimmer Mode. Previously Simplebim had a dedicated trimmer workspace for deciding which objects and properties are included. Now there is a universal Trimmer Mode and include/exclude decisions can be made in any workspace.
- New Home workspace (previously Trimmer workspace). In the Home workspace it is now possible to show only included objects in the 3D window (Trimmer Mode = Off) and in this case the 3D buckets used for trimming don’t waste screen real-estate.

Enhancements
- Streamlined ribbon menu

- The Splitter tool can now handle also 2D surfaces (previously only 3D solids), which is often needed in infrastructure models.
- Open and Import of models is unified into one functionality
- Most recently used files list now included also most recently used folders and most recently exported files.
- 3D modelling is moved from the Location Editor workspace to the main ribbon and is accessible from all workspaces.
- IFC export supports exporting a subset of included objects, for example all included walls.
