If you get an error message when starting Simplebim that says “The application cannot start because the setup is corrupt (IFCEngine). Please make sure to run a setup installed using a valid installer.”, then this is most likely because a library is missing or it is blocked.
IFCEngine is using a Microsoft C++ library that is installed by Simplebim. However, when you get the message above, this library is either missing or Windows or a firewall doesn’t accept it. This issue can be fixed by installing this library separately using the original Microsoft installer, which you can get at:
| Simplebim 11.0 SR7 and later |
Installer: https://aka.ms/vc14/vc_redist.x64.exe Documentation: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170 |
| Older Simplebim versions | https://www.microsoft.com/en-ie/download/details.aspx?id=48145 |
Simply install the C++ library using this Microsoft installer and start Simplebim again.
